SPECIAL NOTE: Many of you have inquired asked about costs. There are no fees for this special event. This tradition of making offerings to those who make these retreats possible is called dana, which is the Pali word for generosity. There will be an opportunity to offer dana during your visit, and it really up to you to decide how much you would like to give. How much you give depends on the value of the teachings, your desire to support the teachers, and those that work to make it all possible, and of course, how much you can afford. There will be a box with a sign marked dana in the meditation hall for Magnolia Village.

* For more information on the Three Refuges see Dharma Memphis page on formal and informal devotion at: http://www.dharmamemphis.com/buddhism/buddhism_devotion.htm

"A bodhisattva is someone who has compassion within himself or herself and who is able to make another person smile or help someone suffer less. Every one of us is capable of this."
