Tibetan Yoga is being taught at 3PM on Sunday's here at Dragon Seat by Chuck Sullivan a local acupuncturist and Chinese Herbalist who has worked with opening energy pathways in the body for many years. This is open to all regardless of physical condition and is done in a chair. There is a meditation and contemplative component to the yoga.

Meetings are every 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month
April 2005 through July 2005.
Meditation sessions begin @ 7pm until 8:30pm
in the main sanctuary of the Church.

The practices include:
bullet Chanting,
bullet Mandala studies,
bullet Zazen sitting,
bullet Mindful Breathing (sitting, standing and walking ).
NeshobaBuddhist, a UU Buddhist & Meditation Group led by Sam B. Lathem, Sensei conducts explorations of Buddhism, all forms and sects, along with a wide variety of meditative practices. 

Much of the material is drawn from the writings of Thich Nhat Hahn and other Western Buddhist teachers ( Kornfield. Salszberg, C. Jung ).

Short Biography:

Sam Chanh Niem Lathem attends Quan An Monastery and joins practitioners on Wednesday nights at Eastern Sun Yoga Studio. He started with Buddhism some 20 years ago when he lived and worked for a number of years in Hong Kong. He is a practicing lay person who was given the title of Sensei  (teacher) when in Japan.  He considers himself a Mayahana participant, and studied in San Francisco at the Soto Zen School under Shunryu Suzuki Roshi, and was a member of The  San Francisco Zen Order( 1967).
Sam comes from Christian roots and find no conflict between The Unitarian Universalist covenant and the teachings of the Buddha and his Dharma. Unitarian Universalist's  have Five Zen masters who have Sangha's within the UUA structure, in the USA.
